In this room there are some pictures which offer an interesting point of view about the town and its representation throughout the centuries. A passage from an allegoric representation to a more realistic one.

The habit of portraying the town as a human being, generally as a woman or a warrior, dates back to the 16th century.

The town’s shape, as it is described and conveyed in the most ancient iconographic sources, is strongly connected to the town’s walls which were preserved in their original position till the beginning of the 19th century, when the first demolitions started.
