The exhibition reports the different projects which have been carried out, since 2004, in cooperation with the Restoration School of Botticino.

The School was founded fifty years ago, in 1974, and it was located at the beginning in the Monastero della Trinità in San Gallo di Botticino, on a little hill with a view on the marble quarries. For several years, the Museum Ala Ponzone and the School’s Direction/Teachers have created a real lab for the maintenance and restoration of some artworks which are generally kept in the museums’ warehouses. For the first time are now here exhibited a lot of these materials: through this exhibition we can appreciate the work carried out by the School’s students. In the exhibition are displayed some Middle Ages gravestones and inscriptions, torn frescoes, ceiling materials and paintings on board or on canvas from the 14th to the 20th century. Moreover, it will be possible to appreciate some low-reliefs made in stone, marble and clay, engraved objects in marble, artworks in wood (like a piece of furniture to support the badalone on which were placed the books for singing in chorus). Among the rare objects, also some small pieces of furniture in wood with inlays in ivory and bone. There are also some precious dresses dating back to the first half of the 19th century and even a curious draisina, the forefather of the bike.
