In one of the framers’ houses it was re-created the domestic environment: a kitchen, a bedroom and several rooms where we can find the typical daily life objects.

The kitchen
The kitchen with the chimney can be considered the main room of the domestic life: it was the room most appreciated by the women who used to stay at home and cook. It was also the place where the families used to meet for the meals and where everyone stayed, especially in Winter, to get warm. The kitchen, moreover, was also a social place where the old and young generations used to meet and share their knowledge.

The bedroom
On the first floor there is the bedroom, where all the members of the family used to sleep together: parents and children used to share the same bed, while the babies were sleeping in small cribs, near the bed. The house did not have a heating system and these rooms were very cold. For this reason it was generally put a “frate” under the sheets: it was a wooden structure with a pot full of embers. This system made the bed warm and more comfortable spending the night in it.

In the storage room, on the first floor, are exhibited some wooden toys.
