Bust of the Marquess Giuseppe Sigismondo Ala Ponzone (Cremona, 1761-1842) depicted according to the classic style, with the pallio on the naked chest on which stands out the cross of the Cavaliere dell’Ordine Gerosolimitano.

The artwork was made by the Roman artist coming from Ravenna, Claudio Monti (1783/1784 – post 1835),who then moved to Milan, at the beginning of the Restoration period, after attending Canova’s workshop in Rome. The artwork was made and delivered in 1832.
